SOLO PROJECTS

‚At my concerts, I like to merge artistic performance and high quality interpretation with an informal approach in general. That’s why I like to talk about the music I play at my concerts. This way I try to shorten the gap between me and YOU – the audience even more!‘

If Bach had known the accordion… Have you ever wondered what the great baroque compositions sound like performed on the accordion? In my opinion, the accordion is one of the most suitable and complex solo instruments for performing baroque music despite its youth. Its technical, timbre and dynamic possibilities enable to play baroque masterpieces with ultimate ease, both transcriptions and original pieces with full respect of the early music interpretation but with a novel sound character at the same time.

PAGANINI CONTRA RACHMANINOV

  • Paganini / R. Würthner – La Campanella

  • Rachmaninov / I. Yashkevich – Italian Polka

  • Brahms / I. Yashkevich – Hungarian Dance No. 5

  • Zolotaryov – Sonata no. 2

  • Makkonen – Like swans…

  • Makkonen – Tango-Toccata

  • Hermosa – Galliano en Santiago

  • Moszkowski – Caprice espagnol, Op.37

  • Bazzini – The Dance of the Goblins

  • Rimsky-Korsakov – Flight of the Bumblebee

≈ 60 minutes (including verbal presentation)

‘Paganini contra Rachmaninov’ is the name of an extraordinary concert program composed of a unique combination of the most technically demanding transcriptions ever written for the accordion and my favourite original accordion pieces. It is most likely my most favourite concert program since these energetic and virtuosic pieces vibe with my personality the best, and such concerts are always an unforgettable experience both for me and for the audience. THIS IS ME!

MILAN ŘEHÁK  – SOLO RECITAL

A solo accordion recital based on the top pieces of the original accordion literature suited for all sorts of concert venues. The combination of the pieces I will always decide according to the place, occasion and audience to create a unique experience for everybody. Within my solo recital, I present both contemporary and classical pieces with exceptional stories behind them that I tell in between. It is a great opportunity to discover those sides of the accordion that you have not known yet. You could hear pieces such as The Collapsed Cathedral by Václav Trojan, The Great Wall by Gorka Hermosa, Postscriptum by Bogdan Dowlasz, but maybe something totally different… BE SURPRISED!

≈ 15 – 120 minutes
